Una Silla en un Momento

Una Silla en un Momento es un fragmento del movimiento que pudo haber tenido un objeto. Un segundo contundente en el que los procesos de ebanistería confluyen para construir una antítesis de lo utilitario, una ruptura, una dislocación, un error. Un instante improbable, y un objeto ávido de vida que, inanimado, se estremece.

Una silla en un momento (A Chair in a Moment) is a fragment of the movement an object could have had. A decisive second in which woodworking processes converge to construct an antithesis of the utilitarian—a rupture, a dislocation, a mistake. An improbable instant, and an object eager for life that, though inanimate, shudders.

The piece was assembled by joining isolated wood joints crafted and discarted by alumni of the woodworking workshops. The joints allowed the piece to be articulated obliquely to materialize movement.
